The terms of playing with us
The plain agreement between the club and the people who come to it: who may take part, what is expected and how either side can step away.
Taking part in the club
Adults only
Drop Bear Squad is open only to people aged 18 and over. By signing up, coming into the club room or joining the chat server, you confirm that you are an adult. A mentor may ask a new member to confirm their age in person, and the club will decline to admit anyone who cannot.
What you share with the club
Nicknames, messages on the chat server and photographs you send to the volunteers remain yours. By sharing them with the club you allow us to show them on this site, on the chat server or on the club room wall for the purposes of the club, and you may ask us to remove them at any time. Please share only what you have the right to share.
Our responsibility
The volunteers take care of the room and of the people in it, but a games club cannot promise that every evening will suit every person or that every game will work first time. Members take part at their own risk and look after their own belongings. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under Australian consumer protection rules.
Our material
The text, guides and layout of this site belong to the club and its operator, as do the photographs we take. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back to the page it came from. Please do not copy whole guides or pictures without asking first, and do not present our material as your own.
Using the site, and leaving
Links to other sites
This site links to external pages, among them the map on the contact page, which is provided by Google. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what they say or store, and their own terms apply once you leave this one. Please read them before you rely on anything they offer.
Taking part and leaving
Membership consists of nothing more than signing up and keeping to the house manners. You may stop at any time by telling a mentor or writing to the club, and we will remove your details as described on the privacy page. We may ask a member to step away, or end their participation, if they repeatedly break the house manners.
No money, ever
The club does not charge fees, subscriptions or entry charges, and it does not sell anything on club nights. The league is played for honour alone: no money, vouchers or gifts change hands, and nobody is asked to chip in for power, tea or games. If anyone claiming to represent the club asks you for money, please tell us at once.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Australian law. We would always rather settle a concern directly, so please write to hello@dropbearsquad.com first and give the volunteers the chance to put things right before you take it any further.
