Follow the signs into town
Mount Barker sits at the foot of its Summit in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and most visitors arrive by road from the surrounding villages or along the freeway. Follow the signs for the town centre and ask for Hutchinson Street. Parking is on the street, and a mentor at the door will point out the entrance.
If you would like to know who will be there, telephone during club hours or write to the club's email address. Jacqueline keeps the week's list of mentors and can tell you which evening is quietest, which is the most lively and which is best for a first visit.
Questions about the visit
- Do I need to tell you before I arrive?
- No. You are welcome to turn up on any open evening. A short message beforehand simply lets a mentor expect you and gather a few other newcomers for your table.
- Is the club room easy to get into?
- If you need step-free access or a particular seat, tell us before the evening and a mentor will arrange the room to suit you. We would rather prepare than have anyone leave uncomfortable.
- What if the weather is bad?
- Club nights go ahead in rain, wind and frost. The one exception is severe fire weather, when the room may close; the chat server will tell members before the evening begins.
- Where do I find news from the club?
- On the chat server, which every member can join, and on the blog of this site. Cassandra posts the week's program on Monday so that nobody has to guess which evening is which.
